Description

The College Board created the Common Data Set (CDS) to improve the comparability of data reported by colleges and to ease each institution's burden by asking questions in a standard way on numerous surveys. CDS items and definitions are used on the fall surveys of several major publishers, including that of the College Board. The CDS is a work in progress and continues to standardize survey items each year. Items included are:

  • Enrollment and Persistence
  • First-time, First-year and Transfer Admission Data
  • Academic Offerings and Policies
  • Annual Expenses
  • Financial Aid
  • Instructional Faculty and Class Size
  • Degrees Conferred

IR produces three separate CDS's, one for each campus.
